Sant Lluís, Menorca
Balearic Islands
Sa Pedrera is one of the longest-running restaurants in Menorca.
It was born as a picnic area in the 1960s, where residents and the first tourists gathered to celebrate.
After going through several managements, a French-Swiss company transformed it into a restaurant, where it offered world cuisine and its specialty was the curious Chinese fondue.
In 2003, a young Asturian couple, Nuria Pendás and Daniel Mora, settled on the island and regular customers of the restaurant, acquired the premises to develop their life project.
Every year a change, an improvement, has made Sa Pedrera a reference for good eating on the island, always thinking about the details and the comfort of the client, but without losing one iota of the spirit that saw the birth of the restaurant, which finally and in the end, it is celebrating, enjoying and living life.
Daniel has Menorcan roots, going back several generations on his mother's side. That's where all his knowledge of island gastronomy comes from. After studying hospitality in his native Asturias, together with Nuria, they decided to come to the island to try their luck.
He worked in different restaurants and hotels, and she in the tourism sector where he developed and expanded knowledge in customer service, language management and quality of service. Inveterate travelers and restless gourmets, they are constantly learning.
We are in the south of the island, in a beautiful country house, in the Caserío de Torret, a group of typical houses of rural Menorca with a lot of charm, close to the town of Sant Lluís and adjacent to the Talaia de Sa Pedrera des Pujol, a small megalithic monument that we highly recommend visiting for its beautiful 360 view of the municipality and just a few minutes from the coves of Alcaufar, Punta Prima, Binibeca, etc...
